Comments: From an email received from family researcher Robert Longbottom:

"I am aware of my 3rd great grandfather's grave stone in a grave yard that is currently in a lawn area.  Jacob died in 1790 and is buried on the farm land that he owned at the time.  It is believed that Jacob was given a Lieutenant Commission in the Revolutionary War.

The grave stone and foot stone are the only markers left at this time.  A former property owner, Donald Rigg, told me in 1978 that there had been more graves there but they had been trod down by farm animals over the years.

I do not know the name of the present property owner but the grave is located near what was once known as the Swinging Bridge over Back Creek in Berkeley County West Va.  It is located a few miles west of Martinsburg.  It is listed in the Berkeley County Cemetery Book published by the Berkeley County Historical Society."

Any additional information that anyone can provide regarding this family cemetery would be greatly appreciated.  If you live near this location, and possibly recognize this cemetery and know the current landowner, let us know and we'll get you in touch with Robert Longbottom.  Robert and his family would like to do what they can to protect this cemetery from further deterioration and help give it the dignity and respect due to those buried there.
