Dates in Red
are not inscribed on the tombstone and have either been calculated based on
death date or are as a result of research on the individual.
When visited in the first half of 2009, 21 graves were identified, only 5 were marked with inscribed tombstones. Due to the large number of fieldstones marking the remaining graves, WVCPA volunteers researched the cemetery in earlier documentation of the cemetery by Ruby (Rhodes) Parsons and the Rev. Shirley Donnelly, published in the Jackson County Cemetery Inscriptions in 1981 by the Jackson County Historical Society (available at the Jackson County Library in Ripley, WV, and other locations).
WVCPA thanks our faithful volunteers, Charlotte & Steve Iman, for the photos and information for this page.
