Accessibility:
From Point Pleasant, West Virginia, follow Rt. 62N to CR 1-1, Potters Creek Road.  Travel Potters Creek Road for approximately 3/4 mile to the first barricaded road on the left side of the road.  This is near the area of the "Storage Bunkers".  Park near Potters Creek Road at the first barricade on the left.  Follow the old road to the end (North, approximately 1200 yards).  The road will start a gradual turn to the right (East).
At this point veer slightly NW for approximately 100 yards until a deep ravine and small creek are found. Once across the creek, travel 3/4 of the distance up the mountain. The cemetery is slightly to the right (East), approximately 400'. An alternate, easier route is to cross the field behind the Kirkland Memorial Gardens, going to the old bridge abutment then on up the hill. When the leaves are off the trees, you can use the Mason County School barn as a point of reference - the back of it is easily visible from the cemetery.

Comments:

Thomas Fowler Cemetery, Mason Co., West Virginia
The photo above was taken near the cemetery, looking down the hill from the cemetery.

Dates in Red are not inscribed on the tombstone and have either been calculated based on death date or are as a result of research on the individual.

WVCPA volunteers, Charlotte and Steve Iman, reported in February 2009 that; "The Fowler Cemetery is an abandoned cemetery in the McClintic Wildlife Management Area, Robinson District, Mason County, West Virginia. It is impossible to determine the exact number of graves present.

14 were obvious.  Four (2 double) monuments were legible, containing personal information of six  of those buried there.  Two contained partial information, we were able to read Fowler on both, one also had the name Charles.  The remaining were either fieldstones (2) , or slabs with no visible engraving (4).  One small slab contained the initials D. C. F..  One appeared to have been inscribed, but only indentations and some Thomas Fowler Cemetery, Mason Co., West Virginiastraight lines remain."

Photo to the right is of the view from hill near Fowler Cemetery, looking West toward Lakin Facility. Visible between trees.
