According
to WVCPA contributor of this cemetery information, Paul Greathouse, the
cemetery is located northwest of Richwood off Rt. 55 (20), on the west side
of the road, near the top of a hill above a substation about a mile up from
the mouth of the Cherry River. While not far from the highway, it is not easily
accessible - there is only an old path leading up the mountainside to the
cemetery, and getting there on foot is about the only way. Last read by WVCPA
contributors Richard & Paul Greathouse on
Dec. 25, 2007. Most of the graves are located beyond the fenced area as
shown in the photo above.

Our thanks to Paul Greathouse for sharing this cemetery information with us! If you have
any questions about this cemetery, you may contact Paul directly at dulcimerman
@ gmail.com
Paul also recommended a web link to a history
of Curtain, WV - note that in the text the author refers to the cemetery
in Curtain having 26 graves in in, most marked with fieldstones. As you can
see from the list above, this is far short of 26, being the only ones that are
marked and positively identified by family records (according to research to
date). If you have any further information on this cemetery and its history,
please contact WVCPA with the details and we'll gladly post it on this page.
